eyeSIGHT is making the effort to sponsor 1 applicant per year, to allow him/her to enrol and complete a North American JAOMP accredited course for an Ophthalmic Assistant. A successful completion of the course will permit the applicant to write a certification examination and attain the credential COA (Certified Ophthalmic Assistant), which then will permit the applicant to further study for the higher credentials of COT, COMT, and more. Program completion further gives access to various specialized CE courses.

Through our sponsorship program, the successful applicant will receive all necessary study materials free of charge, and the entire course fee tuition will be covered. Currently, we are sponsoring a course under the program of Centennial College, Canada. Full course description can be found in the OPHTHALMIC ALLIED PERSONNEL section of our website.

The applicant will be required to write a mid-term and final exam, and 2 papers per module for a total of 2 modules, each 3 months in length (the entire course is 6 months long in total). A minimum grade of 60% or a C is required for successful completion.

All those interested need to fill the “eyeSIGHT Sponsorship Program” Application Package in its entirety. All form fields must be fully completed and all required documentation must be submitted, in order to qualify.

Only 1 applicant per year will be approved. The program will run as long as sufficient funds have been generated. If for some reason program cancellation will occur for a specific year, the chosen applicant of that year will immediately be chosen for the following year.
